2015 12U LadyCats Win North Oakland League Championship!
The 2015 LadyCats 12u softball season came to a close with the team winning the North Oakland Fast Pitch League Championship with a record of 14-1. The ladies played extremely well throughout the entire season relying on positive attitudes and exceptional effort and dominated the league. Pitching, defense and timely hitting were the hallmarks for the 12U LadyCats this year. The team finished the year with an overall record of 23-10 and showed great improvement and pride every time they took the field. 10U Red Takes Runner-Up Honors at 2015 New Lothrop Spring Swing Tournament
The only team the Cats couldn't get past were the tournament hosts, New Lothrop. After falling to the Hornets 7-4 in pool play on Saturday, the Cats earned their way back to a rematch in the championship game on Sunday afternoon. It was a tightly contested affair, featuring excellent defense on both sides. New Lothrop plated two insurance runs with two down in the bottom of the 5th with a key single. 8U Cats Grab Runner-Up Honors at the 2015 Clio Tournament
The Cats spent the entire tournament with a target on their backs. They set the tone with an opening game 9-0 shutout of Clio, then a 4-1 victory over Oxford in pool play to secure the #1 seed in the bracket, and a bye into the semi-finals. The only run surrendered during pool play was a solo HR vs Oxford. Clio fought through the bracket to earn a rematch, but the Cats put them down for the 4th time this year in a slug-fest, 21-15. The 12U Cats endured heat, travel, and a 7-hour delay, but fell one game short in their quest to capture the Grand Haven Summer Blast Tournament Championship. After the ‘Cats thrilling come from behind semi-final victory at 8:00am Sunday morning they’d have to sit for over 7-hours until the championship game would get underway. The 11U “Come-Back Cats” fell one come from behind victory short of a trip to Brooklyn, NY to compete in the AABC 11U World Series. The ‘Cats earned the #2 overall seed and advanced to the AABC State Semi-finals game where they fell to the Orion Chargers 7-1. The 12U LadyCats had five straight wins to take the 17th Annual Attack Youth Softball Tournament Championship. In the semi-final game against the Troy Raptors, Miah Beck sparked the LadyCats 2nd inning hitting spree with a single followed by a Keely Carlson's RBI triple. The fury continued with hits from Alison Anderson, Gracie Murray and Brielle Broderick. The 11U Cats put the finishing touches on an undefeated season in league play with a 10-2 victory over the Great Lakes Cyclones. The Cats started slowly and found themselves trailing 2-1 after 2-innings before their bats broke loose in the bottom of the 3rd scoring 5 runs to put themselves ahead for good. The 11U ‘Cats demonstrated their resiliency in Saginaw as they bounced back from what could have been a first round knock-out at the hands of the host Saginaw Young Golds 14-1.
